Strip That Fat

Ten pounds in a month is a very realistic, very do-able goal. Here are a few tips:
1. You MUST exercise if you want to lose weight and keep it off, so do something every day, even if it’s just a 15-minute walk around the neighborhood. Don’t say you don’t have time for exercise; you have to MAKE time. Yes, it takes time and effort, but you’re worth it, right?
2. Walk as much as you want, but don’t do cardio for more than 40 minutes at a time. If you do, you risk burning muscle instead of fat.
3. If you do strength training, use light weights and do lots of repetitions. That’ll really help you “tone up.â€
4. Your diet will make you or break you. You have probably learned bad eating habits over time (most people do). That’s not your fault, but now you have to deal with it. Make a commitment to yourself to unlearn those bad habits and re-learn better habits.
5. Eat breakfast every day within an hour of getting up. People who don’t are 450% more likely to be overweight.
6. Eat six small meals or snacks per day instead of three squares per day or one big meal per day. Your body expends energy digesting your food, so eating smaller portions more often keeps your metabolism running high because you’re constantly digesting food.
7. Avoid these as much as possible:
– Trans fat (any type of partially or fully hydrogenated oil)
– High fructose corn syrup (soft drinks are LOADED with it)
– Fast food
– Junk food
– White sugar, white flour, white rice, white potatoes
– The deadly C’s (cookies, cakes, candy, chips, cola)
8. Build your diet around these trim-body-friendly foods:
– Nuts, any kind (almonds are best)
– Beans/Legumes
– Fresh vegetables (green is GREAT!!!)
– Dairy products (as long as they’re low-fat or non-fat)
– Eggs
– Lean meats (fish and poultry top the list)
– Olive oil
– Whole grain breads/cereals/pasta
– Fresh fruits (anything that ends in “berry†is a winner)
– Tea (green tea or black pekoe tea)
– Cold water or ice water (your body has to expend extra calories to heat it up)
9. Desserts and treats are the exception, not the rule. Having said that, however, (1) you can have a couple of pieces of chocolate every day – just don’t overdo, and (2) Allow yourself one “cheat meal†every week where you eat and drink whatever you want as long as you don’t gorge yourself. That’ll help keep you from feeling deprived and it’ll make it easier to stick with your new healthy eating plan.
Good luck!

The more you rush it, the less permanent it will be. Expect it to come right back next month.
The less you have to spend on quality food, the junkier the food quality is.
NO fast food! None! Not even a snack. Bag all your meals.
Cut out all sugar soda. No “energy” drinks or anything else with sugar or high fructose corn syrup.
Be more active. Walk 30 mins daily to start out. Most areas have a YMCA which is a very affordable gym.

Weight loss is all about the math –
how many calories we burn vs. how many calories we take in. Eating less AND exercising more means you are bringing in less calories and burning them off.
You need to eat enough calories to keep your metabolism going but not too many to prohibit weight loss as reduction in calories is the single greatest factor to weight loss. You can exercise a lot but it takes a lot to really make much difference.
Drink lots of water too. Even when I limit my calories it doesn’t drop off as quickly without the water intake.

Well you know a lb of fat is approximately 4050 calories. Do a simple mass balance on your daily routines. If you want to lose 10lbs in a month that’s 40500 calories in 30 days.
If you consume 2000 calories a day… that’s 60,000 going into you. Just be sure you burn about 100,500 calroies over that time or about 3,350 per day. (By doing nothing you burn about 80 calories an hour so you’d burn almost 2,000 calories a day without exercise)
My suggestions would be to run, Jog, or Walk every day for a combined total of an hour or more. Drink water instead of other drinks religiously (to reduce the 2000 intake), and eat healthy home-prepared foods in moderate proportions.
Note * Burning 40500 calories in 30 days will be tough*

That is a realistic and safe goal if you are comitted to working hard at it. If you have access to a gym, I would suggest at least 3 days a week of weight training. This will build muscle and help burn fat. On the other days, be sure to do at least 30 minutes of cardio. That can be brisk walking, jogging, swimming, exercise tapes…you get the picture. Make sure to drink at least 10 glasses of water every day and eliminate any soda or special coffee drinks. Try to keep your calories around 1200 and eat lots of fruits and veggies, lean protein, and whole grains. Hope this helps! Good luck! : )

Low carb diet……try to eat all of your carbs maybe like 40 per day from whole wheat products, drink plenty of water and cut out all sugar, anything made with flour, no corn and no pineapple or potatoes or watermelon. You will lose probably more than your goal 10 pounds in a month and you wont gain it back if you stick to it I have lost 70 pounds since november last year and I havent gained it back I have stayed pretty stable within a couple of pounds for like 4 months now. Good luck I hope I helped.

I think it’s a very realistic goal. If you’re willing to spend a couple bucks, the Walk Away the Pounds DVD by Leslie Sansone is at Wal*Mart or cheaper online. It is the most effective program I have ever tried. Every day you should do something where you sweat.
